About me

Born in 1993 in Paris, Kamil Zihnioglu discovered photography as a child with both his parents working in this profession. The image then takes very quickly a dominating place to express what he feels. He received his first camera at the age of 14 and began to document his surroundings. Between 2012 and 2013, he completed an internship in Berlin as a photographer with the former German news agency DAPD, followed by an experience as an picture editor with the German daily newspaper Bild Zeitung, where he learned the entire production chain of the profession of press photography. Kamil returns to Paris in 2014, where he works as a freelance photographer for the photo agency Sipa Press and in 2015 for the international press agency Associated Press, while continuing his studies at the École de Condé in the photography section. He graduated in 2017 with a long term project called 'Epilogue', retracing the 322
last days of the presidency of former French President François Hollande.
Over the last 3 years, Kamil has continued to develop his passion for photojournalism and documentary photography. He focuses on more in-depth documentary projects in parallel with his daily work with AP and Le Monde newspaper. He is currently working on a personal project entitled "Qui, ancu i muntagni si scontrani" ("Here, even the mountains meet") which is a testimony to the cultural identity of the Corsican youth.
